Voices of the people next door

Voices of people next door,
Travel while doing their chores:
Cutting the grass, cleaning up glass,
Sweeping off concrete porch-floors.

Babbling slogans & lines,
Some of which nearly make rhymes:
Clatter & chatter, ’bout things that matter,
& jingles of various kinds.

Some of them talked about beer;
Others of love & good cheer —
But nary a word of Bibles & nerds
Or long-quotes from William Shake-speare.

Voices of people next door,
Echo out doing their chores:
Cutting the grass, cleaning up glass,
Followed by bottles of Coors.
