The Poet’s Pen

Hmmmmmm, shark’s teeth . . .

It’s best
I never speak out loud
Of poets, life & liars;

I’d spark a streak
From feet to street
That sets my seat on fire.

Would I dare sip
Sir Shakespeare’s words
& waste them in my belly?

I’d just as soon
Sup shark’s teeth stew
& fresh piranha jelly.

Whose words
Spark wars & bloody gore
That tint the twilight sky?

The poet’s pen
Dissects them all
& leaves the young to die.
