Neither Apples Nor Oranges

Tangerine,
You’re so clean,
Sitting on my desk.

Shiny bright,
In the light;
Surrounding you, a mess.

Shriveled up,
Baggy-skinned,
Fruit extraordinaire.

Tart, yet sweet.
(Hardly neat.)
Spritzing in the air.

Small & round,
By the pound,
Pebbly-peeled & sour.

Healthy food,
Tasting good,
Beta-Carotene-powered

Tangerine,
Orange & clean,
Squishy to the touch.

People know
How I feel:
Loving you so much.
