Gail,

For starters, I’m thinking “creative non-fiction” is the broad category under which you’ll probably write. Sub-categories? Cast-iron cooking, maybe. Ceramics. Other. For example, transitioning your seed-business website into seed-oriented blog featuring Reviews, How-to Articles, etc. would be a short skip/jump in the right direction.

In other news, you’ll be submitting query letters. Tons. Learn to write them really well.

NOTE: Questions that editors have about writers include, 1) Can this person write? 2) Do they know what they’re talking about? 3) Can they make deadlines? 4) Can they follow instructions?

That gets us almost to Square One,

Uncle Jm

PS: Write up a 500-word (or so) Summary. Choice of topics: 1) Your goals as a writer or 3) What does success as a writer look like to you. (Please pick only one of these two topics.)
