Agnes Cecile lives in Italy, so she’s probably out of the question. (Though I do love her style.) Do you live near an art school specializing in animation-graphics? Students sometimes look for an ambitious “prestige” project for their portfolio, so a well-conceived idea could be mutually beneficial. (I’ve suggested students because collaborations with established companies can be quite expensive: I tried to hire an animation team for what I thought was a modest project, but the bid came back in the $5,000-$7,000 range.) If animation proves cost-prohibitive, perhaps a simple slide-show with voice-over might work. Regardless, I think “Silence & the Sufferer” could become a memorable modern-day proverbial tale along the lines of Shel Silverstein’s “The Giving Tree.” Done well, it could have a significant impact on many people, for many a year.
PS: It’s possible I’m making this too complicated. Perhaps a large, high-quality book for adults but crafted along the line of a children’s picture book might be the better approach.
